Our Flock consists of several breeds and cross-breeds of sheep. But, here at Willow Winds Farm, we try to breed for all of the qualities that make sheep such a wonderful and versatile animal. Please check out our sales page for more info on available animals and meat.

The Dorsets are probably the most versatile of our breeds. They excel in meat and carcass quality with fast-growing lambs that don't need grain to gain weight. Our Dorset lambs excel on pasture alone. Our Dorset ewes produce lots of high quality milk for their lambs and for us.

For any sheep enterprise to grow and be successful a consistent percentage of twins and triplets is required. That's where our Finnsheep come into play. Finnsheep are known for having litters of up to 6-8 lambs but 3-4 is the norm. Cross-breeding the Dorsets and Finnsheep combines the best of both, giving you multiple meaty lambs from one ewe. Our ewes are able to lamb easily without assistance and be excellent mothers to their lambs.

Finnsheep and Jacobs are also known for their high quality fleeces that are treasured by hand spinners. Even when they are cross-bred with other breeds, they continue passing down quality fleeces to their offspring.
